2020 term 3 week 4: Hyperlinks & CSS
Web Design students have finished learning ways to incorporate graphics into our html. Next week, we will work with adding hyperlinks, and will discuss relative and absolute hyperlinks. This will now allow us to only link to other pages, but also begin creating sites of multiple pages that are linked to eachother. We will then start learning CSS. Students have been working really hard, and learning a lot, and I really couldn't be happier with their progress and participation in class. Below is a short tutorial to show some basics of hyperlinks in html.

2020 term 3 week 2: introduction to html
Last week in web design, students learned about basic principles of web design, and were able to create sitemaps and wireframes to plan out web sites. We then started learning how to start web pages by learning rules for file names, organizing folders, and starting the skeleton of our html files.
The tutorial for learning how to set up a basic template to start our html files can be seen here:

We then learned some basic elements and tags of html that we would be using to create a template for our first web page.

We will get into next week by learning issues of copyright and ethics of web page development, and will then be creating a web page for a poetry site, and a web page for a recipe site. The class is off to a great start, and I am pleased with how hard everyone is working!
